Extreme expedition to the second highest peak in Retezat through famous technical zones: Closed Gates and Păpușa Split. Only for experienced mountaineers with complete equipment.
Route Details
End Râu Bărbat forest road → shepherds huts and refuge → Țapului Lake (2h) → technical rocky terrain → Closed Gates (maximum caution) → Păpușa Peak (2508m - SECOND PEAK OF RETEZAT) → Păpușa Split (technical passage) → Păpușa Mică → Șaua Custurii → descent Stâna de Râu.
