Masterpiece of Retezat trails - climb to the highest peak of the massif (2509m). Complete circuit through the largest glacial lake and Berbecilor Cauldron, with chances to spot chamois.

Route Details

Forest road Gura Apelor-Gura Bucurii 20km → Pelegii Valley to Poiana Pelegii → spectacular alpine zone → Bucura Lake near Salvamont → Berbecilor Cauldron among chamois → Peleaga Peak (2509m - ROOF OF RETEZAT) → descent Peleaga Lake → return.
